The Event

NGV2013 Gothenburg will be held on June 11-13 in Gothenburg, Sweden. An event of NGVA Europe, hosted by Energigas Sverige, under Volvo Gold Sponsorship and organized by NGV Communications Group, will feature an exhibition where NGV-related companies from all over the world will present and promote their latest products and services. In addition, there will be a program of five workshops dealing with issues key to the industry as well as a series of networking activities including a magnificent Gala Night, enlightening technical visits, a welcome cocktail, associations meetings, among others. “L-CNG, Bio & Natural gas: The fuel alternative for all transport modes” is the theme of this 4th NGVA Europe International Show & Workshops.

The perfect setting for a timely meeting

Methane for vehicles is part of the European Union’s strategy for the transport sector. The aim is to strongly reduce greenhouse emissions and in this sense natural gas and biomethane are considered as the best alternative fuels for this obligatory substitution process. The European marketplace has a huge growth potential where the market share of methane (CNG, LNG and biomethane) powered vehicles will grow from 0,4%, where it stands today, to 5% in 2020; according to the current European vehicles fleet, 5% means 17,000,000 NGVs. Biogas, natural gas, LNG, hydrogen and LPG are gases used in the energy sector. Altogether, these five gases today represent 4 % of the Swedish energy supply. By increasing methane use, the Swedish Gas Association believes that a number of political objectives in the field of reducing climate and environmental emissions could be reached. Therefore, the association and its members have set up an ambitious target to increase from 4 to 7 % of the Swedish energy supply by the year 2020. NGV2013 Gothenburg is part of this challenge.
